Old North London Ontario homes for sale
The North London planning district, or Old North as most Londoners refer to this area, is located between the Downtown and the University of Western Ontario. The district covers the area north of Oxford St., west of Adelaide and the Thames River as the boundary on the north and west. The neighbourhood is filled with many heritage homes on tree lined streets. Many smaller neighbourhoods make up this district including the Broughdale, Grosvenor and St. George neighbourhoods as well as the Bishop Hellmuth Heritage Conservation District. Gibbons Park along the western boundary of the district has an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, playgrounds and trails and pathways which are part of the larger Thames Valley Parkway.
The northern portion of the neighbourhood is home to the famous “Richmond Gates” to the University of Western Ontario and student housing. King’s University College and St. Peter’s Seminary are also located here along the banks of the Thames River. St. Joseph’s Hospital, a part of the London Health Sciences Centre, is located in the centre part of the district. Ryerson Public School, St. Georges Public School and St. Michael Separate School are located in North London. North London Sports Fields are found at the northern boundary along Adelaide Street and are home to 11 soccer fields and 6 baseball diamonds.
